Supabase is known as a hosted Postgres database with authentication and a convenient auto-generated REST API, but that barely scratches the surface. Behind the database sits an entire platform: authentication with JWT security and optional 2FA, asset storage, Row-Level Security, Edge functions, Realtime messaging, and a large ecosystem of internal and Postgres extensions. Combined with RPC functions, auth hooks, caching layers, and a powerful management interface, Supabase turns a database into a full application backend. This talk walks through the platform from the ground up—connecting it to CFML or other stacks and showing how to take advantage of the services that go far beyond simple data storage.
