Flutter - the next generation of cross-plattform app development

Google has this reasonably new thing: “Flutter is Google’s mobile app SDK for crafting high-quality native interfaces on iOS and Android in record time. Flutter works with existing code, is used by developers and organizations around the world, and is free and open source.”

Ooooooookay. So… what is Flutter then? It’s not native and it’s not HTML and Javascript in a WebView either. Is it something like Google’s answer to ReactNative? The talk will answer this and many other questions. We will have a look at how to use Flutter and demonstrate how fast it can be to create an app using the technology. We will build a simple (but significantly more complex than Hello World) app and look at concepts like user management, database and API connections and various communication features. Flutter’s concept of UI widgets will be introduced and we’ll have a good look at Dart, Flutter’s language, and what differentiates it from other common mobile languages used in mobile technologies such as Java, Swift and Kotlin.
